課程概述 |
This course, through practical learning methods, is aimed at cultivating students' understanding of design research as well as independent ability of conducting research. By focused at two levels of scientific research methods, namely, the level of Methodology and Research Method, the students can understand how to start with the research topic, how to set appropriate methods for data collection on the topic, how to discuss the connotation of the data through appropriate analysis methods, and finally how to summarize the research conclusions through discussion and writing into a paper. In addition, for the academic ethics problems that have recently occurred, we will discuss the essence of academic ethics with students from the slightest to the most serious level based on practical cases.

中文課程大綱 |
本課程將傳授同學執行研究所需的兩項重要能力: 執行設計研究的能力以及遵守學術倫理的能力。 前者之執行設計研究的能力中,將設計研究的過程以四個階段:「尋」、「擴」、「探」、「結」來研討設計研究與研究方法的理念,以培養同學的執行研究的概念與能力。首先「尋」-由瞭解該如何由研究主題開始,「擴」-探討如何針對主題設定適當的實驗方法進行資料收集,「探」-著重如何經由合適的質性、量性分析方法探討資料的內涵,最後「結」-探討如何經由討論歸納研究結論,以及撰寫成為論文的過程。 後者之遵守學術倫理的能力中,將強調學術倫理之重要性,請同學共同研討已蒐集案例的方式,由輕微至嚴重的層級與同學共同探討學術倫理之內容,務實的了解學術倫理之內涵。

This course will teach students two important abilities needed to conduct a research independently: the ability to planning and execute design research and the ability to abide by academic ethics. In the former's ability to planning and execute design research, for constructing the concept of design research and research methods, the design research process is divided into four stages: "finding", "expanding", "exploring", and "concluding". First, "finding"-by understanding how to start with the research theme from several possibilities, "expanding"-discuss how to set appropriate experimental methods for data collection for the theme, "exploring"-focus on how to explore the connotation of data through appropriate analysis methods including qualification and quantification methods, and finally "concluding" -Discuss how to summarize research conclusions through discussion and the process of writing into a thesis.
In the latter's ability of abiding by academic ethics, the importance of academic ethics will be emphasized. Students are asked to discuss the examples of existing cases, discussing the content of academic ethics from a slight to serious level, and understand the connotation of academic ethics thoughtfully.
