| 課程概述 |
Logistics is the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, cost-effective flow and storage of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer requirements.
This course provides a practical, management perspective of the following areas of logistics: customer service, demand forecasting, material handling, distribution, traffic and transportation, international logistics, inventory control, order processing, warehousing and storage, facility planning, key performance indicators, supply chain finance, leadership in a supply chain role, and an introduction to logistics technology including RFID and ERP systems. The course is designed for students who have had little or no previous coursework or professional experience in logistics.

The course will cover the following important topics:
1. To gain a working understanding of logistics principles and to expose students to the language of logistics.
2. To introduce students to the key activities performed by the logistics function including order processing, distribution, transportation, warehousing and inventory control, and logistics information system.
3. To view logistics as more than an operational function that passively executes a plan, but as a strategic function that creates value and competitive advantage.
4. To understand current challenges faced by logistics professionals and to provide a basis for thinking through these challenges.
5. To prepare students for career opportunities.
