| 課程概述 |
This is the core course in improving and practicing English speaking skills, which develops over six semesters from Year 1 to Year 3.
Students will be able to increase their ability to speak, listen and communicate effectively in English.

Course Description
This is the second semester of the one-year oral training course for English-major freshmen. It aims to improve their conversational English through listening and speaking activities.
The main purpose of the course is to improve oral communication skills in English. The students will rely heavily on the BBC online lessons and programs, which are designed to develop their listening comprehension and speaking proficiency. A variety of lessons from audio programs and video clips, such as Lower Intermediate Courses, The English We Speak, CBBC Newsround and BBC News video clips, will be assigned for classroom activities and self-study, to help the students familiarize themselves with the features of spoken English, improve their pronunciation and chunking, strengthen their listening comprehension, encourage them to speak the foreign language more at ease, make the class more interactive, and generate more ideas for course activities.
The grades for the course are based on students’ attendance and participation in the in-class activities (100%).
