| 課程進度表 |
This is the first semester of the one-year course, English Grammar and Rhetoric, for English-major freshmen. It aims to improve the accuracy of their oral and written English.
The objectives of the course are threefold. First, it familiarizes the students with the basic elements of English grammar. Second, it encourages them to become independent learners of grammar. Third, it intends to enable them to produce grammatically and idiomatically proper and accurate English in speaking and writing.
The grades for the course are based on students’ attendance and participation in the in-class activities (60%), and midterm and final reports (40%).
Apart from the coursework requirements, the students are expected to abide by the following 3 rules at all times in the classroom:
1. No food or drinks;
2. No littering, including eraser dust;
3. No cellphone or smartphone.
