| 課程概述 |
本課程著重於翻譯理論對翻譯實務的指引。而最重視理論與實務翻譯關係的理論就是翻譯功能理論學派(functional theories of translation)。翻譯功能論主張翻譯的方式不是由原文，而是由翻譯的目標來決定。功能翻譯理論主要在研究文本類型的功能、翻譯目的和翻譯方法之間的關聯，不同類型之文本附載不同功能。本課程除了研究翻譯功能理論以外，也會透過翻譯實務練習來印證理論。
This course focuses on translation theory as a guide to translation practice. The theory that places the greatest importance on the relationship between theory and practical translation is the functional theories of translation (FOT). Translation functionalism advocates that the manner of translation is determined not by the original text, but by the goal of the translation. Functional translation theory focuses on the study of the relationship between the functions of text types, the purpose of translation, and the methods of translation, with different functions attached to different types of texts. In addition to examining the theory of translation function, this course will also validate the theory through practical exercises in translation.
